Sublimation as a printing method makes it possible to bring practically any design idea to life

Sublimation is a printing method that uses heat and pressure to turn dye into a gas, which is then pressed onto a specially prepared material – fabric, plastic, metal or ceramic. This allows even the most complex designs to be applied to the printable surface accurately and without limitations.

Sublimation is most used in the textile industry for applying colourful and unique designs. Therefore, sublimation is also a favourite among sportswear and corporate clothing manufacturers, as it allows almost any design idea to be brought to life. For this reason, Team Clothing designs are beautiful and eye-catching, making it possible to fulfil practically all customer requests: we have created hundreds of unique designs that can be seen in the completed works section.

Please note that the product images are samples and The design ordered by the customer is printed on canvas..

Sublimation is relatively cost-effective because preparing the printing process does not involve significant additional costs, such as preparing a print frame. This makes it possible to produce smaller batches and individual items cost-effectively, allowing even the smallest teams to be outfitted.

Such print is not palpable to the touch and the colours remain sharp throughout the garment's lifespan. When choosing sports and corporate wear, it is important to know that sublimated garments retain their technical properties, remaining breathable and lightweight even when processed, rapidly transporting body moisture from the inside of the garment to the outside.

Eco-friendly manufacturing methods are increasingly valued, and anyone purchasing sublimated clothing should know that, compared to many other methods, this has the smallest possible ecological footprint, as water is used as the base for production and the dyes do not contain hazardous chemicals.

The ABC of Sublimation

Preparation

First, a special ink intended for sublimation printing is made, which consists of pigment particles that turn into gas when heated.

2. Designing

In a special computer program – such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator – the design required for printing is created, which may include even the most complex details and vivid colours. The design is then transferred to the print substrate.

3. Printing

Using sublimation ink, the design is printed onto a special sublimation paper. This ink is like an oil that sets on the paper and does not smudge.

4. Preparation of print media

Sublimation paper is placed on the polyester and secured tightly together to prevent shifting.

5. Heating

The printing base with the paper is placed in the sublimation machine. Heat and pressure turn the ink particles into a gas, which penetrates the structure of the polyester material.

6. Cooling and fixation

After heating, the temperature of the material is rapidly reduced so that the pressed gas particles can solidify. From now on, the design applied to the material has become a part of it.

7. Finished product

The sublimated product is high quality, durable and precise, and does not wear out with daily wear and care. Such clothing is soft, breathable and does not fade in sunlight. The material retains its original properties.
